Richmond Housing Market
Although the land on which Richmond/Knob Hill housing market sits was annexed to the city in 1910, it was not until decades later that real estate development really took over and the area was officially established. Many of the homes that stand today were built in a flurry of construction activity in the 1950s, although some of these properties have had to be reconstructed over the years. Somme of the properties have been replaced with newer more modern home unites.
Of the original standing homes from the 1950’s construction boom in Richmond/Knob Hill, most are single-family bungalows. There are strong efforts to maintain many of these homes, but in some cases safety concerns have led to many being torn down and replaced by newer builds. Some of these newer homes and refurbishments have kept up with the 50’s style while still upgrading the properties while other home owners have opted for far more modern designs.
Although Richmond/Knob Hill housing market is known for offering residents easy access to a number of nearby recreational facilities and activities, it also boasts many recreational amenities within the Richmond/Knob Hill boundary. Sports such as basketball, hockey and more are all played at the local community centre, and the centre strives to put on many additional events and activities for home buyers to enjoy.
Keen shoppers are also looked after with the popular Marda Loop offering residents access to a number of stores, cafes and restaurants.
