Castleridge Housing Market
The real estate market, which is now covered by the neighbourhoods of Castleridge and Falconridge, became a part of the City of Calgary in 1961. Prior to this it was part of the Municipal District of Rocky View. The community of Castleridge was established in 1980 and real estate development in Castleridge began shortly after.
It is located between 64 Avenue N in the north, 44 Street E in the west, McKnight Boulevard in the south and Falconridge Boulevard in the east. The low population density of the neighbourhood is a major attraction if you are looking for more space and a peaceful lifestyle. Most Castleridge homes for sale are detached single-family houses. Buyers can also pick from a smaller selection of townhouses and condos. Many homes offer great views of the mountains and the downtown area of the city.
Castleridge Neighbourhood Amenities
There are two great parks in close proximity of the neighbourhood: Falshire Park and Prairie Winds Park, both of which offer a variety of natural amenities. This is a great bonus for families living in Castleridge. The latter has an outdoor swimming pool that attracts a lot of families in the summer. Golfers can choose from two fabulous options. Both the Silver Wing Golf Course and the McCall Lake Golf Course can be reached in just 10 minutes.
The community has excellent transportation connections to the rest of Calgary. Deerfoot Trail is easily accessible and the LRT ride from the Westwinds/McKnight station to the city's core takes about 35 minutes. A car trip to the airport takes approximately 25 minutes.
In addition to Castleridge Mall, home owners can pick from a variety of shopping facilities close by. McKnight Village offers plenty of shops and restaurants and Cross Iron Mills Outlet Mall takes slightly over half an hour to reach by car. On 32nd Avenue, east of 36th Street NE, you'll find a variety of restaurants, while London Towne Square is the place to go to take in a movie.
Families buying a home in Castleridge will be happy to discover that there are three schools within the borders of the community, including O. S. Geiger and John Paul II elementary schools.
