Collingwood Housing Market

While the land in the area of what is now the real estate market of Collingwood became part of the City of Calgary in 1910, it wasn't until 1959 that the development of homes started and the community began to take shape.

Real estate in the community of Collingwood consists mostly of single-family homes. The share of these units is approximately 75%. They typically offer mountain views and are in close proximity to one of the local parks or smaller green spaces. There are plenty of upscale homes here but low-rise condos are also available. Most of the residents are families and students, who study in the closely located University of Calgary. It is common for Collingwood home owners to stick around and stay settled here for year after year. That is why new homes for sale do not come up as often as they do in other parts of the city.

The neighbourhood is served by the Triwood Community Association that comes complete with indoor and outdoor hockey rinks, an ice skating rink and facilities for lacrosse. Popular children's community programs held in the centre include the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts.

It is easy to reach the shopping facilities in the local area and beyond. The LRT is in Brentwood which is minutes away and for motorists 14 St. NW passes though Collingwood. If you need anything outside the community you can reach it easily by driving or with public transit.
